School Admissions

Children are able to start school in the September before their fifth birthday.
If you wish your child to be considered for a place at the school, please register his/her
name with School Admissions at Warwick, telephone number 01926 742038. If you
require any further help with this please contact the school admin officer who will be
pleased to help.

If the school is over subscribed, the following children will be given priority:

1. Children looked after by a Local Authority (in accordance with section 22 of the Children Act 1989) and children who were previously looked after but ceased to be so because they were adopted or became subject to a child arrangements or special guardianship order. This includes those children who appear to the admission authority to have been in state care outside of England and ceased to be in state care as a result of being adopted.

2. Children living within the priority area of the school who have a brother or sister at
the school at the time of admission.
3. Other children living in the priority area of the school.
4. Children living outside the priority area of the school who have a brother or sister at
the school at the time of admission.
5. Other children living outside the priority area of the school.
6. Parents may defer entry to Reception after consultation with the Headteacher and
with an admission date agreed in writing by all parties.
7. For funding purposes, a child whose entry has been deferred will be considered as
being on roll even though he/she has not actually commenced in the Reception class.

The priority area served by Woodside Church of England Controlled Primary School
comprises the parishes of Baddesley Ensor, Baxterley, Bentley, Grendon (including
Grendon Common) and Merevale.
